The Super Skills Challenge program consists of two levels; the school events and the Regional events. In the 2010 season we are intending to add a Provincial level as well.
School Event:
Ball Hockey Ontario provides all equipment and staffing to run each event. (We do ask, if possible, the school provide 2 hockey nets, 1 table and 2 chairs.) Much like a track meet, we record each participant’s name, grade and gender then provide them with a number. Participants then attempt each skill, Hardest Shot, Agility, and Accuracy and the Super Skills staff record their scores. If time permits we also do a short, informative, Healthy & Active Lifestyle Interactive Talk with the students. Ball Hockey Ontario then tabulates all the students’ scores, and this is submitted to the school for posting. Students placing first in each skill will be presented with certificates to commemorate their achievements. We also provide the school an information package for the Super Skills Regional Championships which includes; a team roster and a list of eligible alternates, the event schedule, participant waivers, and other pertinent information.
SUPER SKILLS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Each school that participates with a school event qualifies a team for the Regional Championships held at the local Ball Hockey Ontario facility. At time of registration each team will receive jerseys (which the participants can keep). The participants then compete in the 3 skill challenges and Ball Hockey Ontario staff record all scores. The winning team will be considered the school team with the best overall combined score. There will also be recognition for participants placing first in each skill. |
