What’s New for Fall 2025?
Revamping Divisions
We have eliminated the East/West split in select divisions and introduced a new D5 division. This change aims to create a more balanced level of competition across the mid-tier divisions while narrowing the gap between Men’s Recreational and D4. Similar to the current playoff structure in Summer 2025, larger divisions can be subject to a split for playoffs (A bracket & B bracket).
Enhancement of player restrictions
For Fall 2025, most divisions will see an increase in the player limit from higher divisions—from the previous allowance of three players (in Summer 2025) to four. Management will continue to review player eligibility on a case-by-case basis and reserves the right to approve or restrict players as deemed necessary.
Payments
For Fall 2025, we are revamping our payment structure for team fees. Each team is required to pay $500 prior to the start of their first scheduled regular season game, with the remaining balance to be paid in full by the start of their fifth schedule regular season game. There will be ZERO exceptions to this rule.
Fines / Suspensions
Player Suspensions: Any player receiving a suspension of five games or more will be fined $100. This fine must be paid in person at either Canal Rinks or Haig Bowl Arena before the player is eligible to return following the completion of their suspension. The total amount collected throughout the season from these fines will be pooled together and divided up amongst all our youth travel teams to assist in their efforts.
Team Forfeits: A $75 team fine will apply to any forfeit not communicated to the league at least 48 hours in advance and confirmed by league staff. Teams with unpaid fines prior to the start of playoffs will be deemed ineligible and removed from post-season (playoffs) play.
Divisions of Play
Each division lists its designated game days. When registering, please rank your team’s preferred game days in order.
For example, if your team registers for Division 2, which plays on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays, and your preference is Fridays first, Sundays second, and Mondays last, you should indicate during registration:

- Team captains are to submit and manage their roster online, but all players must sign their team’s respective waiver inside the clubhouse prior to their first game of the season. Each rink location will have a “waiver binder” with a page dedicated to each team for players to sign. Players only need to do so once at any location before they begin playing. Once a player has signed, they will be approved by staff to the team’s roster. Any players failing to sign the waiver are considered illegal players and any game they participate in will be considered a forfeit loss.
- Players must play a minimum of 3 games to qualify for the playoffs
Scheduling:
- Divisions have allocated game days, as noted teams must identify their preference while signing up.
- There are 12 games throughout a 10 week regular season, so teams can expect to play 1-2 games per week.

- The rescheduling of games is reserved strictly for Emergency situations (i.e. Extreme weather conditions, staff illnesses in which coverage cannot be provided last minute, power outages). It is up to the team representatives and players to field a team for any scheduled game. Failure to do so will result in a game forfeit.

- All payments are made through the team captain. As a reminder, the league is not responsible – nor aware – of the amount each player is paying. The team captain/rep is responsible for the payment to the league (ballhockey.com).
- All teams must pay $500 prior to the start of their first scheduled regular season game.
- All team payments must be paid in full by the start of the team’s fifth regular season game.
- Team captains can assign payments to players through their online portal.
- Management kindly asks team reps and teams to do their best at managing their team through the online portal, this includes managing their roster (adding players prior to the season starting), as well as making payments.
