Game Structure

  • Elimination round games also consist of four full rounds, with overtime if tied.
  • There are no breaks between rounds, keeping the pace fast and exciting.

Shootout Format

  • Each player shoots twice per round, for a total of 8 shots per team per round.
  • All four players on one team must complete their shots before the opposing team shoots.
  • One complete round is finished once all players from both teams have taken two shots.

Overtime Rules (Elimination Rounds)

  • Overtime consists of one shooter per team per round, selected by the team.
  • The same player may shoot repeatedly until a winner is determined.
  • Each overtime goal is worth 1 point.

Team Composition

  • Maximum roster: 4 players and 1 goaltender
  • One substitute may be designated per team per round (a team must declare what four shooters — out of the up-to-five available — will be shooting per round)
  • Goalkeepers may substitute as players (and vice versa) only if not acting in both roles simultaneously.
  • If a player cannot be replaced due to injury or absence, their shots are forfeited (team shoots 6 times per round).
  • Substitute players must be declared before playoff games begin and must meet rating requirements.
  • Teams must follow all tournament restrictions or risk automatic disqualification.

SCORING SYSTEM

  • Each goal = 1 point
  • Goals scored by a female player = 2 points
  • Standings points (Preliminary Round):
    • Win: 2 points
    • Tie: 1 point
    • Loss: 0 points
  • Standings are ranked by:
    • 1. Total points
    • 2. Goal differential (goals for / goals against)
    • 3. Total goals scored

GAME PROCEDURES & SAFETY

  • Shooters must continuously move forward—no stopping or moving backward.
  • Play ends once the goalkeeper makes contact with the ball.
  • No goals may be scored off rebounds (with limited post/crossbar exceptions).
  • Goalkeepers have 5 seconds to reset between shots.
  • Dangerous actions, charging, or attempts to distract or injure will result in automatic goals or player expulsion.
  • Any forfeited or disqualified match results in a 7–0 victory for the opposing team.
