Ballhockey.com is proud to officially launch Niagara Phoenix, our all-girls program that marks an exciting new chapter for women’s ball hockey in Niagara. Designed to create a dedicated space for girls to develop, compete, and thrive, the Niagara Phoenix will feature youth teams across multiple divisions (U12, U14, U16, etc.) as well as an adult women’s team that will represent Ballhockey.com at tournaments across Canada — and potentially, the world.
This isn’t just the formation of new teams — it’s the start of a movement. Niagara Phoenix represents Ballhockey.com’s broader commitment to building and elevating the women’s game, not only by creating opportunities to play, but by nurturing leadership, mentorship, and community through sport.
“For years, we’ve seen incredible female athletes come through our leagues — many of whom have gone on to represent their province or country. Their stories inspire us and remind us what’s possible when the right structure is in place,” said Curtis Dupuis-Sutton, Assistant General Manager of Ballhockey.com. “With the Phoenix, we’re setting the tone that this sport truly is for everyone — and we’re committed to creating a space where girls can see a future for themselves in the game.”
The program has already seen strong support from local talent and leaders in the women’s ball hockey community. A number of accomplished female athletes and role models have stepped forward, eager to coach, mentor, and grow the game from the ground up. Their passion and leadership will help shape the Phoenix identity — one built on fire, resilience, and unity.
As we build the foundation for this program, we’re inviting players, coaches, and volunteers to help bring Niagara Phoenix to life. Whether it’s stepping behind the bench, running clinics, or competing at the adult level, there’s a place for everyone to get involved.
Our first tryout/scrimmage will be held Saturday, April 12th from 12:00–1:30 PM at Haig Bowl Arena, and our second offering will be Sunday April 13th from 2:30pm-4:00pm at Haig Bowl Arena as well. We encourage anyone interested to come out, get a feel for the program, and help spread the word. More dates will be announced – stay tuned to our social media for those dates.
