Ballhockey.com Announces Men’s Competitive Draft League — A First for Niagara Ball Hockey

Coming this Summer, teams won’t be built in group chats — they’ll be built at draft night.

Ballhockey.com is proud to announce the launch of the Men’s Competitive Draft League, an all-new format debuting in Summer 2026. The league features a 12-week regular season plus playoffs (guaranteed 14 games), played on Sunday evenings, with the season targeted to begin in late July/early August and playoffs wrapping up in September/October 2026.

No Teams. No Rosters. Just a Draft.

The concept is simple, and it changes everything. Instead of registering as a pre-built team, every player enters the league as an individual. Once the player pool fills, team captains will select their rosters live at a draft event — hosted at Montana’s BBQ & Bar in St. Catharines, with the date and details to be shared with registered players.

That means no stacked squads, no scrambling to fill a roster, and no need to know a single person to join. Every team starts from the same place: pick one.

While the draft league is built around individual entry, players can request a pairing with one other player during signup. The catch: pairings must be mutual. Both players have to name each other on their own forms for the link to count — if they do, they’ll be drafted together as a linked duo. If only one side submits the request, both players enter the draft solo.

Nothing to Pay Unless You’re Drafted

Entering the player pool is completely free. The registration fee of $160 + tax per player only applies once you’ve been drafted to a team, and is due before your first game. Registration covers the full 12-week season plus playoffs and includes an official draft league t-shirt — yours to keep when the season wraps.

How to Get In

Players can submit their interest now through the Player Interest Form. The deadline to enter the player pool is July 22, 2026 — and submitting takes less than a minute.
